Spicy Green Beans

These addictive green beans are my favorite. They are spicy, flavorful and fast - great on the side of a simple steak.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound green beans, trimmed

  • 2 tablespoons sambal oelek (chilli paste)

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1/2 cup chicken stock or dry white wine

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in skillet

  2. Add green beans, salt and pepper and cook 2-3 minutes

  3. Coat green beans with sambal oelek and soy sauce

  4. Add chicken stock and partially cover until just tender, about 10 minutes

  5. Add 1 tablespoon butter, mix and serve
