Smashed Potatoes and Apple

Adding an apple is a delicious twist on mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

  • 6 yukon gold potatoes, peeled and quatered

  • 1 large apple, peeled, cored and quartered

  • 4 tablespoons butter

  • 1 cup cream

  • 2 teaspoons salt

  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Add the potatoes and apple to a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 15 minutes until tender.

  2. Drain the tender potatoes and apples and add the butter, cream, salt and pepper. Mash with a potato masher to the desired consistency.

Takes 20 minutes
