Butter Ribs
These ribs are rubbed with spices, cooked low and slow, and finished with butter and brown sugar. Seriously delicious and my husband claims - the best ribs ever!
Ingredients
1 slab spare ribs (about 3 pounds)
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon salt
2 teaspoons paprika
2 teaspoons cayenne
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon sumac
1 teaspoon aleppo chili flakes
1/2 stick butter, chopped
Instructions
Remove the membrane from the ribs and cut into 3 rib portions.
In a small bowl mix 1/2 cup brown sugar, salt, paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, allspice, sumac, and chili flakes.
Rub the spice mixture all over the ribs and marinade for at least 2 hours (up to overnight).
Heat grill to high. Grill the meat side of the ribs for about 5 minutes to sear. Turn down the grill to 200 degrees and flip the ribs to meat side up. Cook for 2 hours.
Lay out 2 layers of foil and place butter and remaining 1/4 cup brown sugar. Place the ribs meat side down in the foil and wrap tightly.
Increase the heat to 225 degrees and cook for another 2 hours.
Let cool, unwrap and enjoy the best ribs ever!
