Meatball Dip
This is a delightful dinner! Who wouldn’t be happy dipping french bread into cheesy, saucy, delicious meatballs?
Ingredients
1 pound Italian sausage
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
1 egg
1 can crushed tomatoes
1 onion, grated
2 cloves garlic, grated
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon thyme
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cups mozzarella cheese
1 baguette
Instructions
Heat oven to 425 degrees
Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and saute for about 5 minutes. Add the tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes. Add the tomatoes, salt and pepper and a half can of water. Mix well and simmer for 15 minutes.
In a bowl add the sausage, cheese, bread crumbs, cheese, egg, salt and pepper. Mix together with your hands. Form into small meatballs.
Add the meatballs to a baking dish. Pour the tomato sauce over and top with cheese. Transfer to the oven and bake for 20 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through and the cheese is bubbly.
While the meatballs cook, slice the baguette, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Bake for about 5 minutes until crisp.
Serve the baked meatballs with the bread and enjoy.
