Grilled Chicken Shawarma
Grilled spiced chicken served with warm pita, yogurt sauce, lettuce and tomato. So good!
Ingredients
1 pound boneless chicken breasts or thighs
4 cloves garlic, grated
1 lemon, juiced
2 teaspoons ground coriander
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons sumac
1 teaspoon ground cardamon
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup olive oil
1 cup greek yogurt
2 cups lettuce, shredded
1 tomato, sliced

Instructions
Heat the grill to high heat.
Mix olive oil, 3 cloves garlic, spices, and half the lemon juice in a small bowl. Coat over the chicken and marinade for 10 minutes (or overnight if you remember!)
Grill the chicken for 7 minutes per side until cooked through. Set aside. Add the pita to the grill for about 2 minutes per side until warmed through.
Mix the yogurt, the remaining lemon juice and 1 clove of garlic.
Slice the chicken and serve with the pita, lettuce, tomato and yogurt.
