Steak and Mushrooms

This is really all about the delicious mushroom sauce. It is a bonus that it rests upon a delicious steak.

Ingredients

  • 2 New York Strip steaks

  • 1 tabelspoon olive oil

  • 16 ounces of cremini mushrooms, sliced

  • 1 stick of butter

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon thyme, chopped

  • 2 tabelspoons dijon mustard

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 teaspoon pepper

  • 1/2 lemon, juiced

Instructions

  1. Coat the steaks in olive oil, salt and pepper.

  2. Heat the grill to high heat. Cook the steaks for about 5 minutes per side until medium rare. Rest for 10 minutes before serving.

  3. While the steak cooks make the mushroom sauce. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and saute for 2 minutes. Add the mushrooms, salt and pepper. Saute for 10 minutes until soft. Mix in the mustard, Worcestershire and thyme and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes. Mix in the lemon juice and serve over the steak.
