Jalapeno Butter Burgers

These thin patties are packed with butter, topped with pepper jack cheese and sauteed onions and jalapenos. Double decker delicious!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef

  • 1/2 stick butter

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder

  • 1 tablespoon salt

  • 2 teaspoons pepper

  • 1 jalapeno, sliced

  • 1 yellow onion, sliced

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 4 buns

  • 8 slices pepper jack cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl mix the ground beef with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Grate the butter into the meat mixture. Form the meat into 8 thin patties.

  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet and add the onions and jalapenos with a pinch of salt. Cook until just caramelized.

  3. Heat a large cast iron pan over medium high heat. Add the patties and cook for about 2 minutes per side. Top with the cheese and cook until melted.

  4. Layer two patties in a bun and top with onions and jalapenos.

Takes 20 minutes
